12-day South trip

Start date: 18 September 2025

The South route offers the perfect combination of active sailing and relaxation. We will experience a few days sailing on a beam or broad reach course (a much more relaxed course) as well as we will sail close hauled to the wind, resulting in some challenging sailing days. We recommend booking this trip only if you’ve already spent a few days on a sailing yacht – no prior sailing experience is required, but it’s important to be aware that this trip involves longer sailing days, occasional unfavourable weather, and overnight stays anchored in bays, where we either remain on board or go ashore with a dinghy.

All our routes are indicative and depend on weather and wind conditions.

Below is an example of our South Route:

Day 1 (Thursday, Arrival Day)
Welcome aboard! The boat is ready to embark at 18:00 hrs. Once you arrive, you’ll meet your fellow sailors and the crew, settle into your cabins, and receive an introduction to life on board. Afterward, you can explore the town of Kos. There will be no sailing today.

Day 2 (Friday)
We leave Kos early and set course for the Turkish coast. We head to the area of Datca, sailing under the mainland of Turkey along the most western of Turkey, Cape Knidos. We stop at one of the bays there for lunch. In the evening we dock at the picturesque harbor in the bay of Hayıtbükü Koyu, where we dine at a small Turkish restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. 

Day 3 (Saturday)
The day starts with a relaxing breakfast on board. We then sail further to Symi Marina, a beautiful island famous for its colorfull neoclassical houses, clear blue waters, and charming harbor, in fact of the most beautiful harbors in the Mediterranean. The old town, completely rebuilt in Venetian atmosphere, is high on the World Heritage list. Here we enjoy the atmosphere with a great Greek style taverna and a vibrant nightlife.

Day 4 (Sunday)
A lazy day awaits! Short sail from the Simi town to a small bay South of Symi, where we stay at the bay and enjoy swimming, snorkeling and an evening BBQ on board.

Day 5 (Monday)
After a morning swim, we sail further south to Rhodes. Today we have a relaxing day of 20 NM route. Sit back, relax and learn about sailing with our informative captain!

Day 6 (Tuesday)
We stay in Rhodes for the day and another night. Rhodes is a large and historic island in the, known for its medieval architecture, beautiful beaches, and vibrant culture. The island boasts the UNESCO-listed Old Town of Rhodes, a medieval walled city with narrow streets and ancient landmarks, also famous for the ancient Colossus. Lets enjoy this mix of history, natural beauty, and lively atmosphere with an evening dinner down in the old town!

Day 7 (Wednesday)
After two days in Rhodes we sail 30 NM west. We admire the Rhodes coast, we stop for lunch and swim in one of the bays and then we arrive at idyllic Alimia,  a hidden gem! Alimia is a small, uninhabited Island with rugged landscapes, crystal-clear waters, and peaceful environment, where we do some diving and snorkelling and in the evening we dine on board, anchored in a bay!

Day 8 (Thursday)
Today, after a lazy breakfast, morning swim and relaxation we start a very short sail and we head to Chalki. We dock in a small harbor and dine at a traditional Greek taverna, enjoying a serene atmosphere and authentic Greek charm with cobblestone streets and colorful houses.

Day 9 (Friday)
Today we set sail to the north and we are heading to Tilos. We are going upwind so we have a 20 NM more challenging few hours of sailing. We dock and enjoy the small, tranquil island.

Day 10 (Saturday)
Pali is a little harbor located on the island of Nisyros. You will have time to rent a car and drive around the island. Highlights: A big volcano with two craters, of which one is still active and the beautiful village of Nikia which overlooks the craters. 

Day 11 (Sunday)
Today we leave a Greek lands and head to Turkish bay Mersincik Koyu, where you can admire the famous turtle beach, beautiful landscape. We enjoy the peaceful night with dining on board.

Day 12 (Monday)
We return to Kos, with plenty of time for lunch in a bay before arriving back at the Kos Marina around 5 PM. On our final evening together, we enjoy a delicious Greek dinner and either explore Kos’s nightlife or have a cosy drink onboard.

Day 13 (Tuesday)
Sadly, the journey ends today. Along with a beautiful tan, you’ll take home a suitcase full of wonderful memories.

The routes offer a variety of harbors, bays, and stunning views. Please note that the described routes are subject to change due to weather and other conditions, always at the skipper’s discretion.
