Day 1 (arrival day):
Welcome to Greece. The boat is ready to embark at 18:00 hrs. As soon as you are on board you will meet your sailing companions and the crew, we will divide the cabins and you will get the first explanation about the ins and outs of sailing on board. Then you can explore Kos town.
Day 2:
From Kos the first day we sail to Nisyros, around 22 NM. We moor in the small port of Pali. We hope to arrive here around 4 p.m. so we still have time to visit the volcano with the rental cars. Once on the crater rim, the view is breathtaking. We descend on foot to the bottom of the largest crater, out of three. Here and there hissing sulfur gasses still come out of the rock crevices and in one of the villages there is a natural sauna where the hot gasses seem to come right through the rock walls.
Day 3:
On the program today is a relaxing sail downwind to Tilos, where we stay at the beautiful bay of Livadia. We get a place at the ferry pier if we promise to leave early tomorrow morning. High on the mountain is the deserted village of Mikro Horio, which has been transformed into a large open-air disco. The still-standing facades are illuminated from behind, and with the twinkling stars overhead, it makes it an overwhelming experience.
Day 4:
Today the program includes a 15 NM crossing to the small island of Chalki. Chalki is located northwest of Rhodes. It is the smallest inhabited island in Greece, where the influence of the old Venetian style is still clearly visible. Chalki has a pleasant boulevard with many terraces.
Day 5:
Today we have a longer day of sailing of around 25 NM to Symi, where we stop overnight at the stunning bay of Panormitis. With plenty of time for swimming we enjoy the BBQ and gaze at the stars at night.
Day 6:
We set sail for Symi town. Symi has one of the most beautiful harbors in the Mediterranean. The old town, completely rebuilt in Venetian atmosphere, is high on the World Heritage list. Symi is a pleasant lively town with a vibrant nightlife. It is also called the “Saint Tropez” of Greece.
Day 7:
The last day of sailing , around 40 NM, is back to our home port on Kos. On the way we will admire the Turkish coast, we sail under the mainland of Turkey along the most western land, called Cape Knidos. We stop for lunch at one of the bays there. After we head back to Kos and we arrive back at our Marina around 5 pm. We get ready for one last night out and try out the nightlife of Kos.
Day 8:
The end of our sailing ramble, and in addition to tan, you also take home a suitcase full of great memories.
Number of participants: minimum 5 people, maximum 8 people. The routes offer a wide variety of harbors, coves and beautiful views. The described itineraries are subject to change due to weather and other conditions. This is always at the discretion of the skipper. This route could also be travelled anticlockwise.
