12-day North trip

Start date: 26 June 2025

The North route offers the perfect combination of active sailing and relaxation. During the first few days, we sail close hauled to the wind towards Samos, resulting in some challenging sailing days. Once we reach the latitude of Samos, we switch to beam reach sailing (a much more relaxed course) and then sail downwind back toward Kos. We recommend booking this trip only if you’ve already spent a few days on a sailing yacht – no prior sailing experience is required, but it’s important to be aware that this trip involves longer sailing days, occasional unfavorable weather, and overnight stays anchored in bays, where we either remain on board or go ashore with a dinghy.

All our routes are indicative and depend on weather and wind conditions.

Below is an example of our North Route:

Day 1 (Thursday, Arrival Day)
Welcome aboard! The boat is ready to embark at 18:00 hrs. Once you arrive, you’ll meet your fellow sailors and the crew, settle into your cabins, and receive an introduction to life on board. Afterward, you can explore the town of Kos. There will be no sailing today.

Day 2 (Friday)
We leave Kos early and set course for Kalymnos. On the way, we stop for lunch at Pserimos and spend the night in the Palionnisos bay. In the evening, we dine at a small Greek family restaurant with a stunning view overlooking the bay.

Day 3 (Saturday)
The day starts with a relaxing breakfast on board. We then sail further north to a bay on Leros, where we enjoy a peaceful night under the stars and a fun barbecue. Leros, a lush, green island known for its history. In 1911, the Italians occupied Leros, leaving their mark on its architecture.

Day 4 (Sunday)
A lazy day awaits! We sail from our bay on northern Leros to Lipsi, with a lunch stop at the Blue Lagoon. In the evening, we dock in the lively harbor of Lipsi.

Day 5 (Monday)
After a morning swim, we sail to the western side of Arki and we spend the night in beautiful Marathi Bay.

Day 6 (Tuesday)
Today, we head to Agathonisi, docking in a small harbor and dining at a traditional Greek taverna.

Day 7 (Wednesday)
Today we arrive in Pythagorean, a charming town on the southeast coast of Samos. We’ll spend the night here, giving you time to explore the town and island.

Day 8 (Thursday)
We are staying in Samos, however we will do a short sail to the stunning bay of Marathokampou. You can rent a scooter or car to explore the island of Samos.

Day 9 (Friday)
After two days in Samos, it’s time to sail further east to Ikaria, one of the  “Blue Zones”, where people live significantly longer.

Day 10 (Saturday)
A long day of sailing today to Patmos. The island offers stunning landscapes and a serene atmosphere. Here we go up to the Monastery of St. John the Theologian, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the Apostle John is believed to have written the Book of Revelation. There is also the Cave of the Apocalypse.

Day 11 (Sunday)
From Patmos, we sail to Kalymnos. Again, the exact overnight location will be decided based on the wind, weather, and whether the group prefers a unique bay like Pirate Bay, a small fishing village, or anchoring under the stars.

Day 12 (Monday)
We return to Kos, with plenty of time for lunch in a bay before arriving back at the Kos Marina around 5 PM. On our final evening together, we enjoy a delicious Greek dinner and either explore Kos’s nightlife or have a cosy drink onboard.

Day 13 (Tuesday)
Sadly, the journey ends today. Along with a beautiful tan, you’ll take home a suitcase full of wonderful memories.
